The total capital – which you can also see on our Impact Board in the app – corresponds to what are known as ‘customer deposits’, i.e. the total amount of money held by the Tomorrow community in their accounts. Our promise to you: not a single cent of these deposits goes into sectors such as the arms industry, factory farming or coal-fired power – as is often the case with conventional banks. We’ve already achieved a great deal through this ‘divestment’, but this is just the beginning: part of the total is available to Tomorrow to finance specific projects – including the restoration of ecosystems on the Eastern Cape in South Africa and the promotion of renewable energy.
