We want to make this as simple as possible for you. That’s why we distinguish between data we can adjust directly and data stored in the official banking system that is subject to regulatory requirements.

What we can easily change for you:

Anything related to how your information is displayed with us can be updated quickly and without additional documentation. This includes:

Your name in the app
Your name on your card
Your name in our communication
The salutation in letters from Solaris (Mr., Ms., or neutral)
The gender stored in our system

A short message to our Customer Support including your supplementary ID (Ergänzungsausweis) is enough, and we’ll take care of it.

What requires an official name change

All data in the official banking system must match the details on your valid government-issued ID. This applies, for example, to:

Letters from Solaris
Account statements
Transfers
Other official banking documents

These details can only be changed once an official name change has been completed. This is because identification and the banking system are subject to regulatory requirements and are not directly controlled by us.

What applies during onboarding?

During the identification process, you must complete verification using the name shown on your valid ID document.

Once onboarding is complete, you can contact us directly. We will then update the display in the app, on your card, and in our communication according to your preference.

Important:

If you want to avoid your card being issued with your deadname, please contact us on the day of account opening before 5:00 PM. This allows us to update the display in time.

Gender selection during sign-up (“diverse”)

If you select “diverse” during sign-up, this does not cause any issues during identification. Gender is not listed on German ID cards, so there cannot be any discrepancy.
