Since March 1, 2024, a fee of 3% / min. 3€ per card transaction applies in connection with gambling (e.g. (online) casinos, lotteries, betting shops, etc.) or cash equivalents (e.g. cryptocurrencies, traveler's checks, etc.). This fee is charged regardless of whether the underlying transaction is refunded and applies to both incoming and outgoing transactions.

The reason for this is that gambling can be associated with a higher risk of fraudulent activity, money laundering and credit card fraud. By charging a fee for this, like many of our competitors already do, we can cover the costs of monitoring and protecting against such risks.
