Your securities are held in your own securities account, where you can view your fund units at any time within the app. Your securities account is maintained with our partner, lemon.markets brokerage GmbH. 

The securities themselves are held via a third-party custodian in collective safe custody with the relevant central securities depositories. This means: unlike a safe deposit box, there isn't a separate, individually earmarked security set aside for each investor. Instead, the third-party custodian holds the securities of all investors who own the same security together in one large pool.

Your shares are still credited to your brokerage account with full precision — it records exactly how many shares belong to you. You receive co-ownership of the collective holding: legally, this means you don't own one specific, separated security, but rather a share in the joint pool that corresponds exactly to your brokerage account position. This process is governed by law (Depotgesetz).
