Where is the piece of land located?
The site of the Spekboom Renaturation South Africa project is a 1,456-hectare farm within the original habitat of the plant in the Eastern Cape region of South Africa. This farm consists largely of degraded pasture and a smaller portion of low-productivity agricultural land located on the headwaters of the New Years River, which flows through the property.
Who is implementing the project on site?
Locals on the ground. We can create over 24 full-time jobs and another 24 seasonal jobs in an area with an unemployment rate of over 75%, creating environmental and social impact.
